Just what I needed

I necessitated a fast and quiet card that must not require an upgrade for my 400W power supply. The card does the occupation perfectly: it has 3 performance levels (P0, P8 and P12), which are mechanically chosen depending on the load – this feature may likewise be disabled for most eminent performance, but I did not observe any difference. Transition to higher clocks is so smooth, I did not realize it was there until I used monitoring software.

The fans speed when idle is regarding 15% keeping the GPU at 28-32 Celsius degrees. They begin to be heard at regarding 40% speed and become noisy above 65%, but not one thing too bad and it’s without apparent effort covered by the games’ sounds (keep in mind my whole scheme was build to be as quiet as possible).

Every game thrown at it keeps constantly in 60FPS (v-sync enabled for smooth animation) while using the new 16xCSAA (which is in fact 4xMSAA + 12xCV) and 2xSS for transparent textures in 1920×1080 with the ‘ultra’ setting. Starcraft 2 needs to be set in ‘ultra’ too, as ‘extreme’ halves the FPS for a heap of reason.

Another positive aspect is that the card routes the system sound through the DVI socket as well, so a DVI to HDMI cable carries sound to the monitor as well as HDMI to HDMI. This is exceptionally essential when your monitor is likewise your TV, since you may hook your speakers straight to it and use them for both TV and PC.

On the bad side be conscious the card is big, I had to re-arrange some of the SATA cables in my system.

Quiet and Fast

Works great, is very fast, dual fans keep it cool and low noise. I can’t listen it over my quiet cpu cooler.

Good card for all my needs.

This card runs these games with no problems or difficulties at 1920×1200:
1. Starcraft 2 at ultra,
2. Rage at 8xAA high,
3. Battlefield 3 at high.
4. Fallout 3 4xAA.
